Mecha is seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters, Machinists, and Boilermakers for both workshop and site-based shutdown roles in Gladstone. Whether you enjoy the structure and precision of a workshop or thrive on a variety of site work and shutdowns, we want to hear from you.

Roles available:

Workshop-Based: (Local Only):

  • Fitter/Machinist – Manual machining using lathes, mills, and borers. Precision work on mechanical components.
  • Mechanical Fitter – Assembly, maintenance, and overhaul of pumps, gearboxes, and fixed plant equipment.
  • Boilermaker – Welding and fabrication of structural and mechanical components to specifications.

Mechanical Fitters & Boilermakers – Maintenance, installations, and planned shutdowns across QAL, BSL, RTAY, QMAG & QGC.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification – Mechanical Fitter, Fitter Machinist, or Boilermaker.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work locally in Gladstone and Rockhampton.
  • Site roles: Ability to complete site inductions, medicals, and compliance (Blue/Yellow Medipass).
