The Capability branch is located in the Schools and Student Support Division. It is committed to developing a thriving and capable workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to support every student in realizing their potential. A key part of this branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI), which delivers high-quality, evidence-informed, and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages.

The EFI provides targeted professional learning for staff located across metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote locations in the state. It aims to empower staff with the skills, knowledge, and capability to excel in their roles.

Why this Role?

As a School Business Coach within the EFI, you will deliver a coherent, system-wide approach to high-quality, targeted capability development for school leaders and business managers.

As School Business Coach, you will :

  • Collaborate with school leaders and business managers to provide targeted coaching and capability development to improve school business and operational management practices.
  • Offer specialised advice and high-level support tailored to each school's context and aligned with system priorities.
  • Use evidence-based approaches to ensure coaching and capability development are supportive, job-embedded, collaborative, and accessible across the state.
  • Develop collaborative strategies with school leaders and business managers focusing on effective school business and operational management.

Temporary engagements are available until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. This role reports to the Director of Capability in each relevant regional location.
