Store Manager

Store Manager | Murray Street Mall (18 month contract) – role at lululemon. As the ultimate leader of the store, the Store Manager is accountable for every aspect of the retail store performance, ensuring engagement, achievement of key results, and a world-class guest experience. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Store Managers are responsible for hiring and developing people and creating a store culture where colleagues feel a sense of belonging and have the opportunity to grow. The store delivers quality guest experience in line with company values and directives (people experience, store operations, product, and community relationships).

• Leadership and People Management
  • Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment and culture by welcoming and celebrating differences to ensure a supportive, productive and fun experience for team members.
  • Establish a vision for the store based on key metrics and initiatives, and cascade to all team members.
  • Manage the store's talent strategy including hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and implementation of employee engagement initiatives; build a strong and diverse team and support ongoing learning and development with coaching and performance management activities. Address employee concerns and escalate when needed.
  • Guest Experience And Community
    • Lead an exceptional guest experience on the floor through customer engagement, product education, and coaching to address gaps.
    • Direct in-store team members to ensure optimal guest experience and efficient store operations.
    • Address guest escalations and urgent requests.
    • Establish and grow brand awareness in the community by cultivating relationships with local ambassadors and partners, using product seeding where appropriate.
    • Drive the Community strategy for the store including local, regional, and area initiatives (e.g., local run club, International Day of Yoga).
    • Operations, Product and Strategy
      • Drive store visual merchandising and product strategy, manage product escalations, and execute company-driven product actions and initiatives.
      • Monitor sell-through, inventory accuracy, shrinkage, and deliveries in line with visual merchandising strategy.
      • Plan and execute quarterly and seasonal planning regarding strategy, budget, and labor (including recruiting and development).
      • Manage store profit and loss in alignment with goals.
      • Lead from the floor to address business needs through coaching and development.
      • Adhere to people safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
      • Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws or regulations.
      • Budget Responsibility
        • Accountable for controllable budget; labor hours; annual sales plan target.
        • People Management
          • Leadership role directly responsible for managing all other store leadership roles.
          • Ultimately responsible for hiring and terminating all store employees.

        Job Requirements
        • Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the store is located.
        • Travel: Ability to travel to assigned store with reliable transportation.
          • Schedule / Availability: Full-time, 38 hours per week; variable schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
            • Experience: 1 year of people management experience and 1 year managing business operations including retail scheduling and labor management; experience with projects or processes.
              • Job Assets (Nice to Have): High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 2 years retail or sales management experience.
                • Work Context: Bright environment with music; team and independent work; conflict resolution; building community relationships; computer use; standing and moving around store; some light lifting up to 30 lbs.
