About The Role
Sutherland Shire Council is seeking Early Education Centre Cooks to join our Early Education & Child Protection team on a casual basis. In this role, you'll plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years. You'll work with the Early Childhood Director to create seasonal menus that meet Australian Dietary Guidelines, accommodate individual dietary needs, allergies and cultural preferences — all within budget. Maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen clean, safe and organised will be part of the daily routine.

- Plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years.
- Support positive and relaxed mealtime experiences that encourage children's independence.
- Communicate effectively with educators, families and team members about meals and nutrition.
- Ensure all food preparation and storage meets Australian Dietary Guidelines and food safety standards.
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to complete on appointment.
- Experience preparing nutritious meals for young children, ideally in childcare or similar settings.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage budgets and stock supplies.

- Package: $37–$39 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours: Casual hours; ability to work a range of shifts from 6am–7pm.
