Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced APS4 Finance Officer to join our Federal Government client for a 6-month, full-time temporary assignment based in Melbourne or Canberra.
About the Role
As a key member of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality client-focused finance services, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and procurement activities. You will also assist in preparing financial information and reports and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including asset register management, ensuring accurate and timely entries to TechOne and CBMS.
- Perform timely and accurate monthly reconciliations, including payroll to general ledger, bank, IT, travel, and depreciation.
- Assist in preparing various financial reports, including annual Financial Statements notes, monthly reports, statutory returns, and audit requests.
- Provide accurate and timely advice and resolve queries related to your responsibilities.
- Support continuous improvement of team processes and procedures.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely records according to standards.
- Assist with procurement activities and AusTender reporting.
- Undertake other duties, including ad hoc projects or tasks, as required.
About You
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer capable of delivering client-focused finance services. To succeed, you will need:
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and internal controls related to financial management, administration, reporting, and compliance.
- Well-developed skills in accounts processing, procurement, and reporting procedures.
- Previous experience with TechOne and CBMS is highly desirable.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Desirable: An Accounting or Finance degree with a major in accounting, and current CPA or CA certification (or working towards it).
- Ability to obtain or hold an active baseline security clearance.
