Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Project Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Perth, Australia.
Key responsibilities- Cost control functions and implementing and maintaining associated systems and processes.
- Provide budget allocation, cost forecasting, cashflow forecasting, cost review and variance analysis and cost reporting across the program.
- Offer advice and guidance to the delivery teams and engage with Project Manager, Planning and Scheduling, Delivery, Commercial and Finance teams.
- Engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure project monitoring, analysis and change control are applied throughout the project using best practice techniques.
- Undertake cost risk analysis, prepare budget allocations, prepare cost forecasts, cashflow forecasts and workload analysis.
- Analyze data to establish variances in initial estimates and final project costs, identify trends, risks and mitigation.
- Participate in reviews of tender pricing schedules, contractor forecasts, payment claims and variation claims, and make suitable recommendations.
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
- CPA/CA would be an added advantage
- Experience of planning and financial control in a complex project environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced MS Excel, SAP, and Primavera P6 skills
- Knowledge of Rail / Transportation / Engineering sectors highly desirable
