About the Centre

Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre (GRAC) is a state-of-the-art recreation centre in Traralgon, Victoria. We offer a variety of fitness and swim programs and memberships for all ages. Whether you're interested in gym workouts, group fitness, personal training, lap swimming, or swimming lessons, we cater to everyone. Our facilities and pools are accessible to people of all abilities, and our qualified staff are here to help you reach your fitness and nutrition goals.

About the role

Based at GRAC, you will be responsible for food and beverage preparation and service, including:

  • Cash handling, food handling, cleaning, and adhering to occupational health and safety standards within the café and for event catering.
  • Demonstrating motivation and passion for food services.
  • Promoting the YMCA Healthy Food and Beverage Policy.

This casual position offers an hourly rate of $31.18 + Super. Availability on weekends (7.45am - 5.45pm) and evenings (Monday-Friday, 4.00pm - 7.00pm) is preferred.

About you

Experience is desirable but not mandatory. Skills we value include:

  • Communication – Ability to interact with diverse age groups, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Teamwork – A team-focused attitude to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Engagement – Ability to create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Previous hospitality experience (highly regarded).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Barista and food preparation experience (desirable).

Essential Qualifications

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
