About the Tenancy Manager Role

We have an opportunity for a Tenancy Manager to join our Customers – Services team in our Metro North East Region. The work of a Tenancy Manager is to be the main point of contact for tenants to access services and to set the standard for a positive customer experience. You will be customer service focused and responsive to tenant requests, addressing day-to-day tenancy matters quickly and supporting tenants to link to services they need to improve their health, wellbeing and sustain their tenancy.

You will contribute to the sustainability of tenancies through proactive management of property care, tenant arrears and debt, and anti-social behaviour. Central to this role is conducting regular home visits as an engagement tool to support tenant wellbeing and housing stability. You will work as part of a team including support coordinators and Connecting Communities, and external partners to improve outcomes for tenants and social housing communities. This role is a contract position based at our Redfern office with travel to portfolio locations as required.

Responsibilities
  • Be the main point of contact for tenants to access SGCH services and to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Proactively manage property care, tenant arrears and debt, and anti-social behaviour.
  • Conduct regular home visits to engage with tenants and support wellbeing and tenancy stability.
  • Collaborate with support coordinators, Connecting Communities teams and external partners to improve tenant outcomes.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable groups.
  • Experience in property management in real estate, public or community housing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a learning mindset and ability to work autonomously.
  • Current NSW driving licence.
