Our High Intensity SILS (Supported Independent Living) house is a safe and nurturing environment for individuals with significant health and support needs. We work collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams to enable our residents to live fulfilling and independent lives.

About the Role

As a SIL House Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the SILS (Supported Independent Living) house run smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on the individual needs of the residents. You will:

Provide high-quality, person-centred care tailored to the complex needs of individuals.

Manage and implement individualised support plans, including behaviour management strategies.

Assist with medication administration, personal care, and other healthcare tasks while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Act as a mentor and role model for other support workers, offering guidance, training, and leadership to foster a collaborative team environment.

Coordinate with allied health professionals, healthcare providers, external stakeholders, and families to ensure holistic care.

Handle administrative tasks, including documentation, incident reporting, and compliance monitoring.

Promote independence, dignity, and choice for individuals, empowering them to achieve their goals.

Respond effectively to health-related emergencies and maintain a safe, supportive environment for both residents and staff.

Please note: This role is based in a 24/7 supported living house, and staff will be required to work on a rotational 24/7 roster. This includes mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and public holidays.

About You

You are a compassionate professional with a strong background in high-health needs support. You thrive in a coordinator role and are passionate about empowering others.

Key Criteria:

Qualifications:

Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (desired)

Enrolled Nurse qualification (preferred) or substantial experience in health/high health needs environments.

Experience:

Significant experience supporting individuals with complex and high-health needs in SILS, disability, aged care, or similar settings.

Proven ability to respond to medical and health-related situations effectively.

Skills and Attributes:

Strong leadership and team mentorship capabilities.

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Competence in developing and maintaining detailed care plans, reports, and documentation.

A calm and professional demeanour, especially in high-pressure situations.

Requirements:

Current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.

Current Blue Card willingness to obtain.

A valid driver's license.
