Overview

We're seeking passionate Anaesthetists to join Rockhampton Hospital's growing Anaesthesia Service. Working alongside the Director of Anaesthesia, you9ll help deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality care to patients across Central Queensland. As our services expand, we're looking for specialists—including newly qualified Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)—who want to consolidate their consultant role in a supportive and collaborative environment.

About us

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed referral facility and the largest hospital in Central Queensland. Our services include the newly established integrated cancer care centre, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

• Four operating theatres and two procedure rooms
• An 8-bed ICU/HDU
• A comprehensive anaesthesia service supporting obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, and dental procedures
• Preadmission clinic, acute pain service, and procedural sedation

• Actively involved in teaching and research
• Proud to support a diverse training program, including: 4 Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme trainees, 1 College of Intensive Care Medicine trainee, 1 Rural Generalist trainee, 2 Principal House Officers, 2 Junior House Officers, 1 Acute Pain Service Nurse

Role responsibilities

Deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality anaesthesia care to patients across Central Queensland in collaboration with the Director of Anaesthesia. Contribute to a supportive, multidisciplinary team and participate in service expansion across facilities as capabilities allow.

About you

• MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA); in general, this will require Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
• Enrolment and maintenance of an ongoing CME program appropriate to the College

What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. consists of:

• A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
• A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
