Overview

Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead the Mortimer Street Mudgee Precinct Development planning project. This senior role will oversee consultant procurement, stakeholder consultation, business case development, design, and planning approvals, within the framework of a major Commonwealth/State grant funding agreement, with the goal of delivering the project to Construction Certificate stage.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a Precinct-Defining Project
  • Oversee procurement of consultants, stakeholder engagement, and management of planning and design processes
  • Develop and progress business cases, feasibility assessments, and planning approvals
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements and coordinate internal and external professionals
  • Drive outcomes that foster vibrant, inclusive regional growth and deliver a high-impact precinct plan for Mudgee
Qualifications
  • You have a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three years' experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in planning, infrastructure, or property development.
  • Proven ability to manage business case development, feasibility assessments, and planning/design processes.
  • Understanding of local and state government development approval pathways.
  • Experience in consultant procurement, contract management, and project reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
  • High-level project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and willingness to attend relevant WHS training.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this full-time position is $4,423 - $4,807 gross per fortnight plus superannuation (annual salary approx. $115,000 - $125,000 gross plus superannuation, dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
