Senior / Estimator – Civil, Mining & Earthworks Projects role at Bendigo Advertiser. Market leading and growing civil, mining & earthworks national contracting business with challenging and varied projects from $5m up to $40m+.
Our client is a well-established national civil contractor looking for an experienced Senior / Estimator to join their growing team. The role involves contributing to the successful delivery of challenging projects across sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, and environmental works. Typical projects include demolition, bulk earthworks, excavation, retention, piling, foundations, ground improvement, soft and hard landscaping, site remediation and rehabilitation. Typical values range from $2.5m to $40m+.
Responsibilities- Working on tenders
- Coordinating internal and external resources
- Preparation and submission of tenders
- Evaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
- Tender negotiations
- Coordinate tender handover to project team
- Prepare budgets based on tender submission
- Assess and price contract variation orders
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- 5 – 10+ years' management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+
- Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
- Effective problem solving abilities
- High level of commercial acumen
- High level of organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
