  • 12-month full-time role; part-time considerations may be made for the right candidate

Unique opportunity for a Student/Graduate Urban Planner to gain hands-on experience in a leading private development business delivering landmark projects.

Our client is a prominent property development group with a track record of delivering projects worth over $billion+ across industrial, commercial, residential, and tourism sectors. Their future pipeline includes apartment precincts, a golf course-based community, and large-scale mixed-use developments with retail, health, and community infrastructure — all in strategic growth areas near major transport hubs.

They collaborate with Australia's top architectural, planning, design, and specialist firms to create highly sought-after projects.

They are seeking a Student or Graduate Urban Planner to join their Sydney-based team, working closely with experienced urban planners and development professionals.

You will assist in preparing State, Regional, and Local Development Applications, Planning Proposals, and other ancillary applications. Projects include Concept Plans for master-planned communities and detailed Development Applications for construction and operation.

Initially, your focus will be researching planning parameters for a portfolio of diverse properties across Australia owned by one of our client's development partners, aiming to identify potential development opportunities and understand planning systems in various states, territories, and overseas.

The Position – The role is full-time and temporary for 12 months, with possible part-time arrangements for suitable candidates. You will work out of our client's CBD offices.

Remuneration – A weekly rate of $1,300 plus 11.5% Superannuation, based on a 35-hour week, with 4 weeks of annual leave.

Skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Progressing toward completion of a planning or urban development-related degree
  • Some relevant planning work experience (preferred but not required)
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

This is a unique opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to a variety of projects in a collaborative, high-performing environment, providing a strong foundation for a planning career.
