Qualified Assistant Director

Contract Details

The Assistant Director will be contracted to a minimum of 25 hours per week, with additional hours during Vacation Care. The role includes opening the service in Before School Care and closing in After School Care, working in partnership with the OSHC Director.

Operating Hours

• Before School Care: 6:30am – 9:00am
• After School Care: 3:00pm – 6:30pm
• Vacation Care: 6:30am – 6:30pm

Responsibilities

• Support the Pimpala Primary School Values
• Develop authentic relationships with students, families, and staff
• Create a connected, secure, stimulating, and enriching learning environment, reflecting the Environment as a Third Educator
• Assist with planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for students R-6
• Scaffold an engaging & connected vacation care program, ensuring children's voices are heard and community & educators collaborate
• Provide administration support to ensure effective OSHC operations
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously when required
• Support daily service operations
• Collaborate with school leadership, OSHC Director, and the Governing Council
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in the National Regulations and National Quality Standards
• Participate actively in Quality Improvement processes, self-assessment, and policy updates
• Support staff in safeguarding children, with knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and Code of Ethics

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma in Outside of School Hours Care, Children's Services, Bachelor in Early Childhood or Primary Education - ACECQA approved
• Current DCSI / WWCC
• Current First Aid, CPR, and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect certifications
• Sound knowledge of ACECQA, National Quality Framework, EYLF, MTOP
• Understanding of child protection practices and inclusive practice

Desired Criteria

• Supervisors' Food Safety Qualification
• Understanding of children with special rights
• Behavior management training
• Experience with OSHC administration systems and NQA Portal
• Knowledge of inclusive funding and inclusive practice
