We are looking for an Allied Health Assistant to join our Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) team. You will play a hands-on role in helping clients over 65 achieve their rehabilitation goals while living at home. You will be part of a friendly, cohesive team of allied health and nursing professionals based at Wallsend Health Campus. You'll work with clients participating in a 12-week rehabilitation and transitional program, supporting them to live well and safely in the community.
This is a dynamic role that offers variety, with a mix of direct client care and administration. You'll work alongside other AHAs, sharing the workload and contributing to meaningful outcomes for clients. Your input is valued as you actively participate in delivering rehabilitation programs and motivating clients along their journey.
Responsibilities- Provide direct client care within the Transitional Aged Care Program
- Support clients to achieve rehabilitation goals and safe independent living in the community
- Assist in delivering rehabilitation programs and activities
- Contribute to administrative tasks and team collaboration
- Excellent communication skills
- A client-centred, engaging and motivating approach
- Strong teamwork and flexibility
- Time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to follow direction and openness to feedback
- Supportive line management from the Allied Health Service Manager for TACP
- Hybrid orientation and training with your manager and the multidisciplinary team
- Connection to the District AHA networking group for ongoing support and development

- Demonstrated experience working as an Allied Health Assistant or has a certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance
- To be eligible for permanent employment you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may occur only if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

This is a Category A position.
