Overview

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader - Project Engineer to join a leading utilities and renewables company. This role leads a team of engineers to deliver high-voltage transmission projects, providing technical oversight, project engineering expertise, and team leadership. You will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Construction teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Project and Site Engineers across transmission-level projects.
  • Provide technical input into the design, procurement, and delivery of electrical works.
  • Review and oversee engineering deliverables to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Support project scoping, planning, and bid preparation activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage project delivery risks.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes including ITPs, FATs, and SATs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).
  • NER and Victorian Engineering Registration (minimum); Chartered Engineer desirable.
  • Proven experience delivering transmission-level voltage projects within utilities, EPC, or renewables sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of design development processes and project engineering methodologies.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and providing mentoring across levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working on large-scale transmission and renewables projects.
  • Demonstrated career progression and leadership opportunities.
