Maintenance Supervisor - Amazon

Amazon is seeking for a Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Technician to join the team at our Delivery Station in Heathwood, Brisbane.

In this role, you will lead a technical team in carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance activities, repairing and maintaining the machinery that keeps Amazon running.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead Maintenance Technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
• Deliver and maintain Preventive Maintenance programs, building compliance programs, including facility and contractor management.
• Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site.
• Manage maintenance related purchase orders to maximise smooth facility operation and control of critical spare and store inventory to ensure adequate stock levels for maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all FC systems including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, conveyance, and all other operational equipment.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organisation, including regular attendance to site leadership meetings and steering committees.

A day in the life

In every shift, you'll be leading a team to ensure everyone has the equipment they need and that it's running properly. That involves monitoring processes so that regulations and policies are followed and ensuring that preventative maintenance is carried out to increase equipment uptime. You'll suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive.

About The Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best. We maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network, including work on exciting technology that exists at Amazon.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant so everyone is safe and our sites operate at maximum efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

• Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology OR Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner) with valid Electrical Mechanic/Electrical Fitter licence. Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia including valid licence.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, FMCG, manufacturing and/or logistics.
• Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
• Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
• Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
• Experience in contractor management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automated conveyors systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, work order management.
• Experience of multi-contractor management.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
• Facility management.
