This role joins our Short-Term Planning team and contributes to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence through high-quality short-term mine planning and scheduling.
The role reports to the Senior Short-Term Mining Engineer and involves developing safe and efficient mine designs and schedules across a planning horizon from daily to three months, incorporating drill and blast inputs and applying technical expertise to ensure practical planning. You will prepare and deliver short-term mine plans and schedules that optimise safety, productivity, and cost; collaborate with key stakeholders; contribute to drill & blast plans; support continuous improvement; and build strong working relationships with technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities- Develop safe and efficient mine designs and schedules for daily to three-month planning horizons.
- Prepare and deliver short-term mine plans and schedules optimizing safety, productivity, and cost.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs are executable and aligned with production goals.
- Contribute to the design and execution of drill & blast plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
- Build strong working relationships with technical and operational teams.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a mining environment.
- Exposure to or understanding of short-term planning and drill & blast principles (desirable but not essential).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive problem solver with a desire to grow technical capabilities and planning expertise.
- Experience with mine planning software such as SPRY, Deswik, Vulcan, or similar CAD-based platforms.
- Exposure to Mine Design, Drill & Blast, and Short-Term Scheduling.
