Overview

Aspirante is working with a local government department to assist in their search for a highly skilled Test Manager to lead testing activities across a large, multi-stream transformation program. This role is critical to ensuring quality, compliance, and operational readiness across modernised business systems, new applications, integrations, data migration, and legacy system decommissioning.

You'll be responsible for defining and managing the overall test strategy, planning, and execution across multiple concurrent projects. Leading a small test team, you'll work closely with architects, analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical and business requirements ahead of go-live.

Contract to June 2026 with likely extension. Paying up to $1186 per day. 2 days per week in Brisbane CBD office.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the program-wide test strategy aligned to project milestones and risks
  • Lead and mentor a test team (up to four members) across functional, integration, data migration, non-functional, and UAT streams
  • Coordinate testing across multiple workstreams with complex dependencies
  • Define test plans, acceptance criteria, and ensure traceability from requirements through to defect resolution
  • Oversee test environment readiness, including data refresh and configuration
  • Manage defect triage, test reporting, and communication of risks/issues to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise quality standards, governance, and audit requirements
  • Support UAT planning, coordination, and business sign-off
About you

You are a collaborative and detail-oriented leader with proven experience as a Test Manager or Senior Test Lead on complex enterprise programs. You bring:

  • Strong background in test strategy, planning, and execution across multi-system and integrated environments
  • Experience in data migration, database remediation, and system decommissioning
  • Familiarity with API-based and event-driven architectures
  • Proficiency with test management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, HP ALM)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of non-functional testing (performance, security, failover) and risk-based testing
  • Experience in large-scale transformation, ideally within government or regulated industries
