We are seeking to establish a pool of Voice and Vocals Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

This is a pool for appointments in the North and South Metropolitan Area.

Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) is a large service provider which works across metropolitan and regional primary and secondary schools, providing instrumental instruction to students from Years 3 to 12. In addition to weekly small group instrumental lessons, students have opportunities to participate in enrichment music activities which combine them working collaboratively, across year levels and with students from other schools. IMSS service is guided by our school plan as well as overarching Department policies and procedures. Our vision at IMSS is to provide a rich environment where students have opportunities and pathways for inspiration, success in music and personal excellence.

IMSS teachers deliver lessons under the IMSS Whole School Teaching and Learning Program, and the IMSS Pedagogical Framework which includes the aspects Playing/singing from Notation, Playing/singing by Ear, Playing/singing from Memory and Improvisation. These are developed from the WA Curriculum, The Arts (Music) and Department of Education Strategic Directions. IMSS teachers are supported to deliver the aligned teaching and learning program including common assessments which inform ongoing teaching practice and effective and educative feedback to students, parents, and schools via formative and summative assessment. Formal and informal reporting is an essential element of the role. Instrumental lessons are delivered alongside the classroom music program in partner schools.

The Role

Suitable applicants will be proficient in teaching and performing voice as well as conducting choirs.

Applicants should embrace the opportunity to work within a variety of school contexts across the metropolitan area. The suitable applicants may be required to deliver group tuition in one or more schools per day. As an IMSS teacher, you should expect to direct ensembles within your instrumental context e.g. Concert band, rock band, orchestra, choir etc. Suitable applicants should be able to work independently, display energy and passion for the subject and possess strong interpersonal and ICT skills.

• hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration .
• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website .

• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
