Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial operations. You will bring strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to process improvement, ideally backed by experience in the NDIS and not-for-profit sectors.
What you'll do:
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with NDIS pricing arrangements and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, and other statutory requirements
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Improve and streamline financial systems and processes
- Mentor and support junior finance staff as required
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making across the organisation
What you bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior accounting role
- Experience in NDIS and/or not-for-profit sectors highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance obligations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
