Airport Ramp & Baggage Agent - Virgin Australia - Cairns Airport

We are currently seeking Ramp & Baggage Agents who share our values of Safety & Security, Passion, Integrity, Reliability, Innovation and Teamwork.

Suitable candidates will be required to deliver a range of aircraft ramp services including baggage handling based at Cairns Airport on a Part Time basis (minimum 24 hours per week).

What you'll be doing
  • Safely loading and unloading aircraft
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment at all times
  • Transporting and loading of freight
  • Handling of Dangerous Goods
  • Safely operate Ground Services Equipment
  • Compliance with all station notices relating to policies, procedures & training
  • Comply with the Menzies open, fair and honest reporting culture
What we need from you
  • Must be reliable and motivated to work
  • Ability to work within a fast paced environment and ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 32kg
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills
  • Well presented
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Must hold a current Driver's License (Green P2 minimum)
  • Possess Australian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Motivation and flexibility to work on a 7-day rotational shift roster as per flight schedules
  • Applicants will be required to undergo a Police check, Airport security check and pre-employment medical as part of the standard conditions of employment
