Overview

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future. Downer Professional Services comprises two business units: our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. We are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

About the Project/Program

This role is within CASG, working on JP9347 Joint Data Networks as a Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will contribute to JP9347 project's engineering activities from requirements development and market solicitation to acquisition through to introduction into service.

What You\'ll Do

  • Supporting the Planning and Execution of the project Engineering Program and participating in engineering engagement with Industry as part of a holistic contract management approach
  • Conducting requirements and specification development
  • Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders, and providing mentoring to junior engineers
  • Developing engineering advice to Project Leadership on the Engineering Program, and development of briefings and other formal correspondence to project/program leadership
  • Review for acceptance of contract deliverables and supporting or executing whole of system level certification activities

What You\'ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering (or Engineers Australia recognised equivalent), plus ideally Postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant field.
  • Analysis, design, review, and delivering high quality engineering documentation to support Government approvals and delivery.
  • Initiative, creativity and responsibility to perform a range and variety of complex technical work activities with limited guidance.
  • Managing technical and integration risks, and applying testing and evaluation techniques across the system development life cycle.
  • Formal qualifications in Communications, or other technology specifically relevant to tactical data links.
  • Understanding of Defence processes and structure.
