Overview

Serco is seeking a Rapid Global System Permit Officer at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch, Perth, WA. The role administers and manages Serco's digital permit-to-work system and coordinates the permit-to-work process for all Serco staff at Fiona Stanley Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site role.

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and evaluating Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Auditing works undertaken by personnel and subcontractors holding a permit to work.
  • Signing and issuing Permits to Work for high-risk tasks.
  • Reviewing completed permits and identifying non-compliances with the permit-to-work procedure.
Roster/Hours

To ensure coverage from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, this role will operate on a rotating roster of 6:00 am–2:00 pm and 10:00 am–6:00 pm, alternating with another team member.

Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or other relevant safety qualifications.
  • Sound understanding of IT systems.
  • Ability to interpret and explain relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures to others.
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification (highly desirable).
  • Relevant industry experience delivering work scopes in line with permit-to-work systems.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • High attention to detail with competency in reviewing documents and drawings.
  • Well-developed organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to show initiative and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concerns and issues clearly.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
