This role demands a strong technical foundation, sound judgement, and the ability to influence at all levels. You'll lead toolbox talks, mentor operational teams, and partner with stakeholders to embed a proactive, learning-focused safety culture.
If you're passionate about advancing safety in technically demanding environments and want to be part of a team that values innovation, accountability, and operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
To be successful, you will bring:- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- AQF Level 4 Qualification or Equivalent in the Field of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Risk Management or a transferable engineering-related qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within Defence or other high-risk industries.
- Strong understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Proficient in root cause analysis and incident investigation methodologies (e.g. ICAM, Kelvin TOP-SET, TapRooT).
- Competent in using HSEQ management systems such as Synergi Life, including accurate data entry and event management.
- High proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), with the ability to generate high-quality reports and manage documentation effectively.
- Our work life integration policy brings together leave entitlements which include annual leave, wellbeing leave, paid parental leave, defence reservist leave plus more;
- We offer flexible working arrangements where possible to help employees find the right balance between work and home life;
- We will provide you with a supportive and engaging environment where you can grow your career, supported by our capability framework plus ongoing access to self-led learning modules through LinkedIn Learning and access to study leave;
- You'll have access to beRewarded which will provide you with endless discounts across retail, health, entertainment, travel and much more, plus novated leasing options and corporate shares plan;
- Your wellbeing is supported through our online wellbeing program Munch, Mind, Move, Money, access to our employee assistance program plus you can access two days annually from your personal leave as wellbeing days;
- You'll be able to participate in our weRecognise program which is an opportunity to recognise the outstanding work our people do each and every day.
