This role is based in Jerrabomberra on the border of NSW/ACT, approximately 30 minutes from Canberra CBD.
Role purpose: We are seeking expressions of interest for a Process Technician role, with flexibility based on experience. You bring hands-on, practical experience in the field and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You're curious, collaborative, and solutions-focused, and enjoy getting close to the process. You will operate and monitor chemical production equipment, support separation and purification processes, maintain production efficiency, and ensure safety and quality standards. We welcome applicants with varying levels of experience in chemical or process manufacturing who are committed to operational excellence and safety.
Responsibilities- Operate and monitor chemical production equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, filters, and control systems, to ensure smooth operation of the chemical line.
- Monitor and test process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, levels) to ensure compliance with standards and adjust as required.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on equipment; report malfunctions or abnormalities.
- Maintain an organized production area and manage workflow.
- Monitor and control the chemical process from start to finish, including raw material intake, mixing, reaction, purification and crystallisation.
- Maintain and report accurate records of production and R&D data, including batch numbers, quantities produced, equipment settings, and deviations from SOPs and testing methods.
- Perform quality control tests on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods; take corrective actions as necessary.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and incidents; report safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including equipment washdown and packing away at end of tasks or shifts.
- Collaborate with engineers, maintenance technicians, and quality assurance personnel to troubleshoot issues and improve process efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend actions to optimise productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and DG handling; comply with environmental and quality regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in chemical processing, separation processes, or water treatment is desirable.
- Proven experience as a Chemical Line Process Operator or similar in chemical manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to chemical handling and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and ability to perform basic laboratory tests.
- Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.

- Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 20 kg and stand for extended periods in PPE (safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, respirator, etc.).
- Australian working rights required; sponsorship is not available for this role.
