JBS Carriers, the transportation arm of JBS Australia, supports JBS operations through an efficient logistical structure that optimizes everything from the selection of cattle at supplying units to the distribution of products throughout Australia, as well as the transport of containers to ports for export.

JBS Carriers adopts methods aimed at guaranteeing the safety and preservation of cattle quality during transport and preserving the characteristics of end products at the moment of distribution, transporting each of the products of our mix in modern vehicles that provide adequate temperature conditions. JBS Carriers also develops cost control and economy-of-scale mechanisms to optimize operational efficiencies.

About the Role

The JBS Carriers team are currently recruiting an experienced logistics professional to join the team as a full-time Transport Supervisor. Based at Riverview (Ipswich), the successful candidate will have a natural inclination to be a great leader, who thrives on driving a culture of continuous improvement and supporting management to ensure a safe and smooth daily business operation.

This position will be supporting the afternoon shift team and your working hours will be 4pm to 12am; Monday to Friday.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring movement to meet operational demands and schedules
  • Coordinating with drivers and dispatchers to ensure timely delivery and pick up schedules
  • Promoting a safe, positive work environment whilst maintaining alignment with company policies
  • Utilising company assets and contractors in a cost-effective manner
  • Managing customer relations
  • Ensuring all legislative requirements are met

About You

  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, refrigerated freight movements and allocations
  • Knowledge of transport regulations including Fatigue, Chain of Responsibility and Mass and Maintenance under NHVR
  • Proficient user or transport systems and MS Office
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve overall objectives of a business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
  • Flexibility to take calls as required on weekends
  • Current Drivers Licence
