Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation is here for our kids, our families, and our future. We're a proud, community-controlled organisation working across the Dharug, Gundungurra and Gadigal nations to support Aboriginal children and families through culturally grounded out-of-home care and family support services.

Everything we do is about keeping culture strong, families connected, and community in the driver's seat.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a new Non-Executive Director to join our Board - someone who brings cultural knowledge, community connection, and a passion for making a difference.
You'll help guide the governance and strategic direction of a respected Aboriginal organisation, working alongside a team that's deeply committed to self-determination, healing, and change that lasts.

Whether you're a community leader, a cultural knowledge holder, an advocate, a strategist or a strong voice ready to step up - we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Bring your lived experience, cultural insights and values to Board discussions
  • Help shape policy, strategy and culturally safe practice
  • Contribute to key decisions that affect the lives of children, families and community
  • Support connection with community and offering cultural advice as needed
  • Participate in Board meetings and occasional strategy work
What We're Looking For

We're inviting expressions of interest from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who:
  • Have strong ties to Dharug, Gundungurra or Gadigal Country
  • Are passionate about seeing Aboriginal children, families and communities thrive
  • Want to use their voice and knowledge to influence real change
  • Are open to learning, contributing and working as part of a collaborative Board
You will need a commitment to community, cultural values, and making a difference. We'll provide support, governance training and mentorship.

Time & Commitment

Board meetings are held monthly of an evening, with flexibility to attend in person or online.
Including prep and any extra involvement, you can expect to commit around 5-10 hours per month.
