About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Social Worker to join our Wantirna Health Allied Health Department. Wantirna Health West Ward is an innovative ward with a dedicated team providing services to GEM patients as well as NDIS participants. The role is supported by a site-based social work team and Senior Social Workers, as well as a dynamic multidisciplinary team. It offers opportunities to learn and grow clinically in a supportive environment with supervision and professional development.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Eligibility for membership of the AASW
  • Experience in a hospital setting
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and also work autonomously as required
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to lead complex discharge planning

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation Handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
