Overview

Seeking AHPRA Registered Midwives. No sponsorship available — must have work rights. Maternity Services is responsible for the safe contemporary care of patients within the hospital. They are pivotal within the functioning of the hospital and contribute to the hospital achieving its mission, values and business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • As a Registered Midwife you will provide and coordinate women-centred care during labour in the delivery suite, birth and the post-birth period, including assessment, development of a plan, provision of care and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Delivery Suite: assist doctor/consultant during labour and birthing; may be required for triage, fetal monitoring, initial neonatal care, neonatal resuscitation, emergencies and suturing.
  • Clinical Activity: provide high standard of clinical care within the scope of a Registered Midwife and in accordance with contemporary care guidelines and hospital protocols; undertake clinical assessment, interventions, evaluation and monitoring; maintain ongoing communication with the midwifery and medical teams; develop care plans in collaboration with the team, patient and family; recognise and report changes in health status; monitor patient satisfaction and support the patient experience; document patient information in a clinically effective manner.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in midwifery
  • AHPRA registration as Midwife
  • South Australia Working With Children check
