Lead Midwife and Team Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Lead Midwife to coordinate the midwifery team, providing exceptional care to women and babies.

  • Coordinate daily operations of the midwifery team and ensure that patient-centered care is provided at all times.
  • Supervise less experienced staff, guiding and developing them to achieve their full potential.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills, ensuring a high-performing team that delivers quality patient outcomes.
  • Practice evidence-based care, utilizing advanced clinical knowledge to tailor care to each patient's needs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • At least 3 years post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in relevant midwifery practice at proficient to expert level.
  • Experience in supervising student nurses/midwives and less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing midwifery practice standards and policies.
  • Ensuring continuous evaluation and improvement of services through participation and consultation.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
