About The Role

We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and self-driven Project Specialist to join our growing national team. This is a role offering a high degree of independence, where you'll play a key role in supporting project teams nationally in delivering successful project outcomes.

As a Project Specialist, you'll be responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and control functions across a portfolio of projects. Your focus will be on integrated project controls - including cost management, scheduling, reporting, and risk coordination, ensuring that projects remain on track, on budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, thrives on structure, and can bring clarity and consistency to complex project environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (MS Project) including milestones, task dependencies, and resource planning.
  • Track progress against project baselines and provide performance updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Support cost estimation, budget tracking, and financial forecasting across multiple projects.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to align schedules and budgets with delivery expectations.
  • Support change control processes by capturing scope changes and evaluating their impacts.
  • Assist in the identification of risks and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, dashboards, and structured reporting tools.
  • Support project closeout activities by ensuring final deliverables, reporting, and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Provide consistent project control support across a national portfolio, ensuring alignment with internal standards and best practices.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated at least 3-5 years' experience in a project controls, project scheduling, or project coordination role, ideally in consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary projects is highly regarded.
