SIMPEC has been awarded the SMPE&I construction and installation of a demonstration-scale chemicals facility within the Pilgangoora Plant for Pilbara Minerals.

We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Coach to join our team on a full-time basis, working a FIFO 2:1 roster at Pilgangoora, Marble Bar.

The Role
  1. Collaborate with project and corporate leadership to ensure best practice health, safety, and environmental performance is achieved and maintained on designated project(s).
  2. Liaise and communicate with client representatives as required to foster a productive and cooperative working relationship.
  3. Undertake and participate in audits to ensure compliance with the project health, safety, and environmental management plans and against SIMPEC's integrated management system.
  4. Perform governance activities and coaching to champion SIMPEC's Critical Risk Management Guidelines.
  5. Coach SIMPEC workers and leadership to excel in all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.
  6. Champion SIMPEC's SIMSafe Culture Framework.
  7. Develop and review Safe Environmental Work Method Statements.
  8. Assist in reviewing statistics and developing improvement strategies.
  9. Assess and control operational risks and hazards.
  10. Conduct inductions and other HSE-related training.
  11. Review and implement HSE plans to meet SIMPEC and contract requirements.
  12. Investigate incidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions on the job site and/or office to determine root causes.
About You
  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Experience within the resources sector.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislations and compliance requirements.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent time management skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team, be proactive, and take initiative.
  • Open to both DIDO & FIFO opportunities.
Desirable
  • Incident investigation methodology (e.g., ICAM or Taproot).
  • Training and Assessing qualification (TAE40116).
  • Injury management experience and/or qualifications.
  • Auditing qualifications (e.g., Lead Auditor).
