Jacobs' Grid Connections team in the Asia Pacific region is at the forefront of powering sustainable energy solutions. We specialise in connecting renewable and conventional energy sources to the grid, ensuring reliable and efficient power distribution across diverse landscapes.

Our expertise spans various sectors, including utility companies, independent power producers, renewable energy developers, industrial and commercial clients, as well as government and regulatory bodies. We offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the evolving needs of the energy sector. These encompass feasibility studies and network planning, grid connection design and engineering, power system modelling and analysis, regulatory compliance and grid code assessments and project management.

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer in Perth after some exciting new project wins This senior role combines technical leadership, client management, business development, and project execution. The successful candidate will lead GPS studies in Western Australia, mentor team members across geographies, drive business growth and deliver high quality power system consultancy services. You will manage key client relationships, represent Jacobs at industry events, and ensure successful project delivery while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, with a specialisation in Power Systems or a related field.
• Proficient in PowerFactory modelling and Python scripting for automation.
• Extensive experience in static and dynamic power system studies.
• Clear understanding of GPS study requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Business acumen, relationship building ability and project management skills.
• Proficient in PSSE and PSCAD, with the ability to adjust models to project requirements will be highly regarded.
