The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a highly motivated Security Manager for a position in a retail asset North of the River in Perth – Security Services.
Reporting directly into the General Manager of Security, this is a unique leadership opportunity to professionally manage and oversee the delivery of services to all clients.
The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring that we are delivering the highest standards of both customer and security services in a dynamic work environment.
This role requires an experienced individual with excellent knowledge in site security, building management systems and fire control systems, and the application of standard operating procedures.
In addition to excellent communication skills and five-star customer service attributes, the role requires the aptitude and knowledge to apply security risk and hazard management principles in the work environment. The ability to maintain strong working relationships with Centre Management and key stakeholders including local Police to deliver security strategies that meet the needs of the Centre will be paramount to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for delivering on contractual obligations to client in accordance with site SOPs and lawful direction/s from Supervisor/Site Manager
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, stakeholders, and staff. Overseeing the site-based control room and CCTV system
- Ensuring on-site Security Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adhered to at all times whilst on-duty
- Apply hazard risk management principles to mitigate risks
- Participation in on-the-job training and using initiative to gather further business intelligence around new and/or unfamiliar/ad hoc duties.
- Effective patrol of premises, including (if applicable) vehicular patrol
- Respond to calls for assistance and respond to alarm events
- Assess and respond to situations of risk
- Monitor individual and crowd behavior
- Provide and apply First Aid
- Manage conflict through negotiation, with critical abilities in using two-way interaction; non-judgmental and non-discriminatory language; and active listening techniques.
- Implement effective strategies for engaging with young people
- Communicate effectively with all persons whilst on-duty
- Provide advice, directions and display a willingness to assist all persons whilst on-duty
- Promote and maintain workplace health and safety
- Report any OHS&E hazards or incidents identified in the workplace
- Input data on site/client systems, as required by site SOPs
- Liaise with Emergency Services during the course of duties (Police/Fire/Ambulance)
- Provide regular contact with, and reports to, Supervisor/Site Manager
- 10+ years in security management, business development, or commercial leadership roles, preferably within a mid to large-sized organisation.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with demonstrated P&L ownership and success in driving revenue and margin outcomes.
- Security License including crowd control function in their licence
- Provide First Aid
- CPR
- Current Open C Class driver's license
- Federal and local Police Clearance
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills applicable in a dynamic work environment
- Aptitude to apply sound emergency response principles
- Ability to work in large teams in the security industry
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated
- Retail security industry experiences essential
- Personable with excellent customer service attributes and the ability to engage stakeholders
- Customer-oriented, motivated, patient and able to work under pressure.
