Join Westmead Hospital's Geriatric Medicine team as a Senior Occupational Therapist, delivering client-centred care, supervising Level 1/Level 2 Occupational Therapists, and driving service innovation. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic about making a significant impact in a dynamic healthcare setting and contributing to a positive team culture. Our role offers exposure to a diverse caseload and clinical specialties to expand your skills within a major trauma hospital setting.

This is a permanent full-time position within our department as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the Geriatric inpatient team. The role includes a clinical caseload and supervision of Level 1/Level 2 Occupational Therapists. Our Geriatrics team is part of the Acute stream within the department, working alongside other acute senior clinicians and Level 1/Level 2 staff. There are three aged care wards to cover; ward allocation is flexible based on clinical demand and staff capacity.

• Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW.

• Registration: AHPRA registration as Occupational Therapist.

• Significant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy in an acute or community aged care setting with the ability to exercise independent professional judgment.

• Ability to work independently with distant supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders at all organisational levels.

• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise competing demands.

• Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to occupational therapists and students.

• Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

• License: Unrestricted Australian driver\'s license.
