Join Westmead Hospital's Geriatric Medicine team as a Senior Occupational Therapist, delivering client-centred care, supervising Level 1/Level 2 Occupational Therapists, and driving service innovation. About the roleThis is a permanent full-time position within our department as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the Geriatric inpatient team. The role includes a clinical caseload and supervision of Level 1/Level 2 Occupational Therapists. Our Geriatrics team is part of the Acute stream within the department, working alongside other acute senior clinicians and Level 1/Level 2 staff. There are three aged care wards to cover; ward allocation is flexible based on clinical demand and staff capacity.

Essential CriteriaQualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by AAOT-NSW.
Registration: AHPRA registration as Occupational Therapist.
Significant clinical experience in Occupational Therapy in an acute or community aged care setting with the ability to exercise independent professional judgment.
Ability to work independently with distant supervision and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to occupational therapists and students.
Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
License: Unrestricted Australian driver\'s license.
