Role context and responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic recovery-focused team as a senior clinician. The senior Occupational Therapist will:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the occupational therapy team
  • Deliver high-level interventions for clients
  • Participate in and guide the organisation in delivering occupational and diversional interventions
  • Support an integrated care model between inpatient and community services

Location: The position is based in the St George Mental Health Centre where the acute inpatient unit is located. The Allied Health team collaborates in a team-based approach to care.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Must hold general registration with and qualifications recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be eligible to register at commencement
  • Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in Mental Health Occupational Therapy
  • Current New South Wales driver's licence
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply advanced reasoning skills
  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making and advocacy skills, with ability to interact constructively with stakeholders
  • Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives
  • Commitment to consumer participation and recovery-focused care
