Responsibilities
  • Research and analyse compliance trends in the context of the associated Acts and Regulations.
  • Develop program proposals (including risk assessment and intervention/mitigation strategies) for endorsement by the Legal Metrology Branch Management Committee.
  • Develop project plans to improve marketplace regulatory compliance using contemporary intervention strategies, including LMB inspection and audit activities.
  • Manage and support delivery of services under Memoranda of Understanding with other Commonwealth agencies, including reviewing terms, procedures, reporting and invoicing.
  • Manage, analyse and report on multiple LMB National Compliance Programs throughout the program year, seeking stakeholder feedback to adjust programs mid- or post-delivery to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to research, plan, and deliver LMB programs; establish and maintain constructive relationships.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor program outcomes and performance for reporting to LMB teams and the Executive.
  • Co-design, develop and write program plans, briefs, and project plans; contribute to continuous improvement and capability building within the team.
  • Lead by example and uphold NMI's values, including responding to breaches of values and supporting others to do the same.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong productive and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Well-developed skills in research, analysis, problem-solving, and managing competing priorities.
  • Well-developed skills to design, develop, operationalise, analyse, and report outcomes for Compliance Programs.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritise competing tasks.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed negotiation and presentation skills for diverse audiences, and the ability to communicate with influence.
  • Sound knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of, legislation, policies and procedures relating to LMB operational activities.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise tact with a commitment to professional values including teamwork and continuous improvement.
What you will do / Duties
  • Consult with stakeholders to facilitate research, planning, and delivery of LMB programs.
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management activities for compliance projects/programs.
  • Monitor program outcomes and area performance for presentation to LMB teams including the Executive.
  • Co-design, develop and write program plans, program briefs, and project plans with stakeholders.
  • Build capability in a team environment through knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain attention to detail to identify and rectify reporting errors.
  • Lead by example and uphold values; recognise and respond to breaches of values.
Eligibility

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

Desirable Role Requirements
  • Project Management qualifications or experience.
  • Experience in contemporary database interrogation, analysis and reporting software.
  • Ability to quickly gain sound operational knowledge of Acts and associated regulations.
