About Us

At Cyclus, we're the team behind the scenes of Australia's most exciting live events—from massive music festivals and stadium concerts to theatrical productions and corporate shows.

We're looking for experienced Follow Spot Operators to join our casual event crew and help light up the stage—literally.

About the Role

As a Follow Spot Operator, you'll be responsible for tracking performers with manual follow spots during live events, under cue from a lighting designer or show caller. You'll be part of a professional production crew working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where timing and focus matter.

This is ideal for someone with a passion for live performance, strong technical awareness, and a cool head under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual follow spotlights during live events
  • Respond to show cues and adapt quickly during live performance
  • Attend rehearsals and coordinate with lighting designers and stage managers
  • Maintain lighting safety protocols and proper equipment handling
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

  • Penalty rates for Sunday, late nights, and overtime

Requirements
  • Experience operating manual follow spots (at least a few live shows)
  • Strong communication and cue-following skills
  • Comfortable working at height or on elevated platforms if required
  • White Card CPCWHS1001 (required)
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
  • Physically fit and capable of working on your feet for extended periods

Desirable (Not Required)
  • EWP or Working at Heights ticket
  • AV/lighting or live production background
  • Driver's licence and transport
  • Passion for live music, performance, or stage production
