The Opportunity

When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life?

It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role to join the Silverchain team in the Miami area.

  • Remain calm when clients are having a bad day or when delays occur, and move on quickly to the next client
  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions, knowing when to ask your manager for help

In addition, you will need:

  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability
  • Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
The Role

In the role of Care Worker you will provide home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping

You will also provide personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • Assisting clients to take their medications
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
  • Providing social and emotional support
  • Providing transportation to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or time to do other things
