NewcastleMaitland, Australia NGM Group Full time
  • Shape the future of customer-owned banking through product leadership that drives innovation, growth, and customer value proposition.
  • Lead end-to-end product development strategy and delivery.
  • Drive large-scale innovation, migration and transformation initiatives.
  • Permanent, full-time role | Hybrid work arrangements | Based in Newcastle.

About the role

Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent have come together to form NGM Group Ltd, a powerhouse in customer-owned banking. As our growth journey progresses, we're excited to offer a key opportunity for a strategic and forward-thinking Product Development Lead to join our Digital and Proposition Development team. In this critical role, you'll lead our product development strategy across deposits and lending - delivering new products, changes to our existing products, simplifying our product offerings, new innovative customer propositions, and managing major initiatives that span brands and customer segments.

This role will provide the direction for our agile Product Delivery Hub and a team of high-performing Product, Delivery, IT, and Change specialists, working closely with our Product Management and other internal operational teams. You'll oversee the development and launch of products and features that are aligned to our strategic priorities, regulatory landscape, and evolving customer needs - all while influencing executive committees and collaborating across technology, risk, operations, marketing, and beyond.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the deposit and lending product development strategy, innovation priorities, and product roadmaps.
  • Develop the roadmap for the Product Delivery Hub—determining priorities, capacity planning, and reporting to executive and board committees.
  • Deliver major initiatives including new product launches, product migrations, complex product remediation and new customer propositions.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle, from discovery to launch.
  • Design and execute customer migration strategies across brands and product portfolios.
  • Oversee governance and risk processes related to product transitions, regulatory compliance, and executive reporting.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across the Group and external industry bodies, presenting investment proposals, strategy updates, and business cases.
  • Lead and mentor our high-performing product development team.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience leading product strategy, development and delivery in financial services or similar regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of deposit and lending product structures, regulatory frameworks, and risk management.
  • Experience delivering large-scale customer and product migration programs.
  • Proven ability to lead large multifunctional teams in agile environments.
  • Expert in stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and portfolio prioritisation.
  • A confident strategist and people leader who can mentor, inspire, and drive high-performance teams.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills at the most senior levels.
