Randstad are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation in the professional sports space to recruit a Head of Operations, Finance & Governance. About The Opportunity

As the Head of Operations, Finance and Governance, you will be reporting to the General Manager, with a dotted line to the CFO. This position will lead the financial, operational, and governance functions across national and state-based high-performance programs.

You'll be responsible for budget oversight, grant management, and financial reporting, while also shaping the operational frameworks that support athlete pathways and program delivery. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll ensure alignment between strategic goals, funding outcomes, and day-to-day execution.

Your Key Deliverables Will Include

• Lead the development and management of program budgets, financial reporting, forecasting and funding allocations across national and state programs
• Prepare grant acquittals and compliance reporting for key funding bodies, ensuring transparency and alignment with grant conditions
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior leaders to support planning, resource allocation, and decision-making
• Oversee governance frameworks, including risk management, policy development, and internal compliance across the high-performance portfolio
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance financial capabilities and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
• Drive process and system improvements to increase operational efficiency and financial control
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders including funding bodies, national sporting organisations, and state partners
  
  

Ideal Profile

• CA/CPA qualified with 7+ years' experience in commercially focused finance roles, coupled with exceptional business partnering capabilities
• Proven expertise in managing budgets, financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting within complex organisations
• Demonstrated operational experience with a finance lens, optimising processes and resource allocation to drive efficiency and performance
• Strong background in grant management, acquittals, and compliance reporting
• Sound knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners to drive strategic outcomes
