Your Role

As a Teacher at Fairbridge College Kalgoorlie, you will play a vital part in supporting and inspiring young people to reach their potential. You will deliver engaging and inclusive learning programs tailored to individual needs, while fostering a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment. Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staff, you will contribute to each student's personal, social, and academic growth. This role also involves maintaining accurate records, participating in school-wide initiatives, and upholding Fairbridge's values of respect, inclusion, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support diverse learning needs.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students with varying abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and reporting as required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student wellbeing and success.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and student achievements.
  • Contribute to whole-school programs, activities, and initiatives that align with Fairbridge's mission and values.
  • Uphold professional standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.
Criteria
  • Experience working with students with specific learning disabilities or communication disorders (desirable).
  • Capacity to teach across multiple learning areas.
  • LR/MR license and ability to drive a bus (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage a varied caseload.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion, equity and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
