Legal Accounts Manager | circa $120,000 package

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Accounts Manager to join a leading Melbourne law firm on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you will manage the firm's day-to-day financial operations, combining hands-on trust and general accounting responsibilities while leading and supporting a finance team of five.

We are searching for a high-performing professional with a strong legal accounts background and excellent legal industry knowledge. Based in the CBD, the role offers flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.

The Challenge

Reporting to the CFO your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Managing trust accounts in line with regulations, including receipts, payments, reconciliations, reporting, controlled money accounts, and audits
• Driving process improvements and coordinating special projects to support efficient financial operations
• Overseeing accounts receivable, payable, and billing, ensuring accurate client billing, vendor payments, and strong cash flow
• Performing daily bank reconciliations and assisting with month-end financial reporting
• Managing the Accounts inbox and supporting legal teams with matter finances
• Leading and mentoring team members

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

• 5+ years of experience in accounts, including recent work in a legal practice and hands-on exposure to trust accounting
• In-depth understanding of solicitor trust account regulations and accounting practices within the legal sector
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems
• Exceptional accuracy and a high level of integrity when managing financial transactions and client funds
• Excellent communicator who can guide and develop team members while building productive relationships across the firm
