Overview

Technology, Media and Telecommunications Lawyer – Brisbane, Australia. This permanent full-time role offers exposure to complex, high-value work across industries including healthcare, finance, infrastructure, sports, entertainment and tech, within a leading national TMT team. You'll work across jurisdictions, tap into global networks, and have the chance to build a niche in areas such as data regulation, AI transactions, cyber preparedness, digital transformation, or media rights.

Role and Responsibilities

As an Associate in this team, your work will span both public and private sector clients and cover:

  • Telecommunications & Digital Infrastructure - commercial and regulatory matters, tower and fibre transactions, and M&A
  • Data & AI - governance, commercialisation, compliance uplift programs, regulator engagement, and investment deals
  • Cyber - incident response, enforcement investigations, cyber simulations, and ongoing advisory work
  • Outsourcing & Procurement - major IT and business process arrangements
  • Corporate/Tech - carve-outs, business separations, systems integrations
  • Startups & Innovation - advisory work through all growth stages, including capital raises
  • Media & Entertainment - broadcasting rights, regulatory advice, and digital platform inquiries

This is a permanent full-time role based in Brisbane, with flexible hybrid arrangements (typically 60% in-office).

About You

We're seeking a lawyer with:

  • Minimum 3 years' PAE in TMT matters, ideally gained in a top-tier firm environment
  • A strong interest in privacy, data protection, AI, and cyber regulation
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating IT/telecommunications contracts
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to advise confidently on tech-related risk and opportunity
  • An appetite for collaboration and innovation in a national team.
