Job Description

Financial Markets division

Data Transformation program is around $30 million per annum, made up of 4 key projects, with a total team of 200. This program is largely Agile and has a timeline of 1-2 years to complete.

Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Leadership & Governance: Own and lead the full lifecycle of the data technology transformation portfolio, ensuring Agile delivery aligns with business outcomes, timelines, and regulatory commitments.
  • Agile-Waterfall Integration: Bridge Agile delivery methodologies with Waterfall expectations, including milestone tracking and benefit realization.
  • Vendor Management & Oversight: Oversee external vendors and delivery partners to ensure contractual obligations, KPIs, and timelines are met, maintaining quality and controlling costs.
  • Strategic Planning & Investment Alignment: Collaborate with C-level stakeholders to shape the roadmap, prioritize investments, and align initiatives with enterprise goals, digital strategy, and compliance.
  • Milestone & Outcomes Accountability: Track and report on critical milestones, ensuring delivery meets agreed outcomes such as data migration, governance, and platform deployment.
  • Financial Management: Manage portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and spend tracking to ensure cost-effectiveness and value delivery.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, escalate, and resolve delivery risks, interdependencies, and vendor issues impacting timelines or outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Engagement: Act as the primary contact for executive stakeholders, providing regular updates via dashboards, reports, and steering committees.
  • Team Leadership & Delivery Enablement: Support Agile teams and product managers, providing direction and facilitating delivery across streams aligned with the program vision.
  • Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Establish KPIs, leverage lessons learned, and implement improvements to enhance practices and accelerate outcomes.

Essential Experience
  • 4+ years in Portfolio Management, including financial management and reporting for teams and vendors
  • 10+ years in technology project delivery
  • RAID and Dependency management experience
  • Implementing agile delivery principles
  • Experience in Banking and Financial Services
  • Knowledge of Data platforms and Data-related projects
Desirable
  • Experience in Financial Markets
  • Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business
