Overview

Richmind WA's Consumer and Family Reference Group (CAFRG) comprises current and previous clients, their family supports and staff, who meet monthly to discuss and provide input into all aspects of the service. External mental health consumers and carers are welcome. Membership is from diverse backgrounds with varying experiences of mental health services. The aim is to help the organisation better support our consumers.

Role

The CAFRG provides an opportunity to ensure that the human rights of individuals are protected and to influence strategic decision-making and systemic change. It supports planning, delivery, and evaluation of services with consumer and carer participation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the organisation in creating a recovery-focused, person-centred and family-centred care environment.
  • Provide strategies for a psychosocially safe organisational culture and welcoming environment.
  • Ensure services meet consumer needs and provide a positive service experience.
Meetings

The regular meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month from February to November each year.

Remuneration

Consumer, Carer, Family and Community Members will receive a sitting fee of $131.25 per scheduled 3-hour meeting (includes 30 minutes paid preparation time).
