About the role

RAAFA HomeCare is seeking Qualified and Domestic Community Support Workers to support our clients to maintain their well-being and independence. We have casual and part-time positions available in the Eastern Suburbs, WA. Our organisation is nearly 100 years old and your work will align with our core values of Respect, Care and Honesty, known as The RAAFA Way.

Our Seniors Living services are connected and offer a continuum of care to people living across our retirement living estates. Whether it's one of our residential aged care homes or our in-home care, we are in the business of people looking after people.

Responsibilities
  • As a Qualified Community Support Worker, you will assist clients with personal care, shopping, meal preparation, domestic assistance, social support, transportation to appointments and extended respite services.
  • As a Domestic Community Support Worker, you will assist with general housework to keep the home environment clean and organised.
  • Be part of the client's support system and build a positive relationship with them and their families.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term, casual or permanent) that arise within the next 6 months from date of first appointment.

What you need
  • Possess a Certificate III in Individual Support Aged Care (essential for a Qualified role).
  • Previous experience in the community or Residential Aged Care.
  • A valid driver's licence with access to your own vehicle.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
  • Flexible decision making and advanced problem-solving skills; excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement within six months of issue) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Be up to date with COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
