Ardent Medical is a medical group that provides primary care services to the Australian aged care sector. We are expanding our operations and are seeking experienced VR General Practitioners (preferably with aged care experience) to join our team of medical practitioners to provide telehealth and primary care services to our customers in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs). Our customers comprise both public and private aged care operators with a national footprint.

We are seeking VR GPs based in Adelaide or Gawler to service a home in Gawler. Approximately 8 to 12 hours per week.

About the Role

This role involves:

  • Providing primary care services to residents of RACFs
  • Taking medical histories
  • Undertaking clinical examinations
  • Arranging necessary investigations
  • Implementing management plans
  • Providing preventive health care
  • Conducting regular reviews and follow-ups
  • Contributing to health assessments and medication management for new residents
  • Performing annual health assessment reviews for existing residents
  • Reviewing multidisciplinary care plans and participating in case conferences as needed
Full Operational Support

You will be supported by our administration staff in all administrative and IT-related matters, allowing you to focus on clinical tasks and patient care.

No After-hours Requirements

All after-hours calls from RACFs will be handled by our medical deputising service. Notes and actions will be recorded for your review, ensuring work-life balance and undisturbed time away from work.

Candidate Requirements
  • Unrestricted Vocational Registration (VR), with FRACGP or FACRRM preferred, or restricted VR under moratorium
  • Current AHPRA registration and permitted to work in Australia
  • Ability to apply for a Medicare Provider Number
  • Own professional indemnity insurance (copy required)
  • Positive attitude and ability to work under guidance
  • Commitment to the company and teamwork
  • Basic computer skills and good communication skills
