This is a key leadership position in a busy peri-urban hospital, where you will support the clinical leadership of inpatient medical services at Gawler Health Service. You will lead the performance of the General Medical Unit to deliver exceptional safe and personalised care to the Gawler sub-region of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network. You will work closely with the Executive Director Medical Services, Deputy Director Medical Services (Northern), Director of Nursing, Operational Directors and other senior clinical staff to ensure the General Medicine Department achieves key organisational performance measures. You will also develop and maintain effective working relationships within the hospital, the local health network, with other service providers, key stakeholders, consumer organisation and the community. Managing the performance of the medical staff, you will maintain policy and ensure quality standards are in accordance with SA Health guidelines. This will include coordinating quality improvements, rostering, administration, teaching and research and site accreditation. You will show clinical leadership through knowledge, teamwork, mentoring and organisational skills in all aspects of General Medicine.
Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist General Medicine registration. You will also have Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP) or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). Demonstrating extensive clinical experience in the acute internal medicine areas, you will have proven high level skills to undertake consultant work in General Medicine. Your strong supervisory skills will go hand in hand with your ability to conduct teaching and promote research in General Medicine.
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
